"Terrible Product and Service: Not Recommended at All"
Pros: Compared to others in it's class...None
Cons: Bad Picture + Bad Service + Bad shape = Terrible Product
Summary: Purchased @ Best Buyer in November 2006.
- When I set it up, I was disappointed with the picture (based on comparison of my Toshiba 19in LCD and Dell 42in plasma), so I checked online for opinions on best configurations of the settings. Found a configuration from a forum that helped out slightly at best. btw - I'm not a TV perfectionist type at all, but I feel that I need to warn others against poorly made products like this one.
- In Feb (~3mos later), the power source failed. (Technician said that it was fairly common in these models). Anyway, under Westinghouse warranty, they ordered a new motherboard/power core in early Feb. I called to check status in 2 weeks and then they told me it was on back order 1 month (new ETA Mar 25). I called again on Mar 26th and they said it is still on back order give it another month (new ETA Apr 25)! I recieved the part on Apr 27. The tech came out the follwoing Tuesday to tell me that Westinghouse sent me the wrong part which the tech mentioned to me that it was the 3rd time in the last week he went through this.
- Thankfully Best Buy took it upon themselves to exchange for a new model. I was ready to toss the damn think in the garbage. Anyway, I will never purchase from Westinghouse again. I probably should have did a little more research and dished out a few extra bucks....as they always say, "you get what you pay for"!Updated
Sorry, forgot to mention about why the shape is bad. On the back it sways out like an "S" at the bottom. If you mount it on a wall, where it allows the tv to swivel, this "S" shape limits the swivel on both bottom corner angles.Updated
...they've given me the option to get anything within the same retail value at the time of purchase or upgrade with more cash...will most likely upgrade, but will let you all know how that turns out.
