"The Lexus of plasmas"
Pros: Excellent picture quality and many features to enhance the image quality. Motorized swivel is great. Love the quality of my HD-DVD, Blu-Ray and standard DVDs. Front panel connections are very useful and includes an HDMI port for HD Video Recorders.
Cons: Remote is not user friendly for a novice. Many friends an family are confused by the layout. If you use it long enough, you will learn the layout just fine.
Summary: This was a expensive plasma on the market but I wanted a high quality flat panel to take advantage of my HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players. This Hitachi exceeded my expectations. Even my standard DVDs look amazing on this screen (upscaling players help of course). I have compared my picture quality with my neighbors (costco cheapy) and this Hitachi just blows it away. Happy I spent more for the Lexus of plasmas.
