"Great TV for the price ($899)"
Pros: Good low cost alternative to LCD's, Great picture even on SD.
Cons: Menu system, cannot set alarm to any inputs other than tuner...
Summary: I was looking for a replacement TV for the bedroom and came upon this TV. It is no deeper than most LCD TV's with their stand (I would guess about 12"). I like the projection technology and the ability to replace the bulb - have some friends with small cheap LCD's and they are already seeing dead pixels with them. Has good SD TV picture as well (and includes a built in Tuner). Many cheap LCD's I looked at had terrible SD pictures.
On the negative side.... it is only 720p, although for watching in a secondary room, that is not a problem for me. Price is still a little high, if sony could get this selling for about $700 it would probably be a great entry level TV for most people. One other negative, I use my bedroom tv as an alarm. This tv has that ability, but for some stupid reason, only allows the alarm to go to a tuner channel and not one of the inputs (Have this on my 55inch sony in the living room as well, but it is not an issue there).
Would recommend this to anyone looking for a small cheaper alternative to $1300 LCD tv's.
