"2 many headaches for the money"
Pros: When it works, the pictures are clear and vibrant. I have gotten so many compliments on pics being so full of color and clarity from this camera.
Cons: Not reliable. Doesn't produce clear and vibrant pics every shot. more like 10 out of 100!
Summary: In the beginning I had to change the batteries constantly until I figured out that the rechargeable (at least 2000 mAh) batteries were what I needed. Invest in some, they were a Godsend. I take pictures constantly and family/friends count on knowing I will be taking pictures not matter what. Even then I still couldn?t just point & shoot continuously. I must wait after each shot for the red light to go off and the green light to go on. It's embarrassing to have family/friends just stand there while they wait until the blasted light goes on so I can take a picture! When it finally decides it?s ready, the flash goes off three times in a row and if you don?t hold the pose till the 3rd flash your picture is of everyone walking away and not the original pose. When you have the perfect picture ready to be taken it seems to flash, then freeze and shut off with the shutter still open. I have to take out the batteries just to turn it off. I?ve had lots of trouble with pictures being blurry especially when using the zoom. Pictures also would be too dark even though pictures were taken in a well lit area or even in daylight. Terrible product!!!!
When the camera wasn?t screwing up, the pictures that were clear and bright were great pictures, colors superb, images vivid. But I would take an average of 200 pictures each event and probably have 5-10 great pictures, and 35-50 ok pictures. To me that is just unacceptable. When this camera is good it?s excellent but when it?s bad it?s awful, to me I wouldn?t recommend. The bad out weigh the good.
I bought this camera 3 years ago. I was very disappointed for the money spent. I paid over $200, and from the very beginning I had trouble. I tried to take it back to Wal-Mart with a receipt but they would not take it back. Something about they don?t take electronics back?etc..etc..bullcrap. What a disappointment!
**** Last week my vivicam finally died on me . Whoo Hoo!!!! I can shop for a new camera and this time I wont listen to someone else!
