"Easily one of the best budget 22-inchers on the market."
Pros: Low price; decent contrast ratio; out-of-view speakers; built-in a/c adapter.
Cons: Light bleeds from edges for dark images.
Summary: Acer is a company that knows how to make high-quality, low-cost products, and this monitor is no exception. For around $230 the AL2230 is for the value-minded users who want a large monitor. I actually got it for $190+tax at Best Buy.
From what I've read, all 22" monitors have light bleeding from the edges so this may not be your best choice for movies and games of the horror/gothic genres.
The default colors are a little too cool and washed but the RGB at 100 looks fairly accurate. You can change the settings if you need to.
