"This is a powered HOME Theatre System, not a PC speaker system!"
Pros: Rich accurate sound, clean bass and excellent control functions
Cons: Mid-range is a little weaker then highs and lows. Bit expensive.
Summary: For all the dopes that keep comparing the PT6021 with other "PC Speaker Systems", READ the info from Altec Lansing ... IT'S A Home Theatre System! With the usual crappy WMV and MP3's you'll have on a PC, sure the sound is not mind blowing! But pump through some uncompressed WAV, quality CD music or a High Fidelity DVD movie sound tracks and this HOME THEATRE SYSTEM flies better than most 2x more expensive 5.1 or 6.1 speakers meant for PC's and Home Theatre.
Altec Lansing did their homework on this system - separate amplifier channels for paired sets of the InConcert driver phased array satellite speakers, folded bass enclosure of heavy wood and high-end cables. Bose should make systems like this! Bose blows comparitively.

The PT 6021 is an upgraded version for Altec Lansing's FX4021,released under the name of Altec Lansing Professional originally. It has a built in receiver, which FX6021 does not have. I have tested the FX6021 and in terms of audio quality,it worths the price. For craftsmanship,Altec Lansing had been the leader for years and the PT 6021 is no exception.
