"My search is over"
Pros: Great sound, nice appearance, remote, easy Ipod setup
Cons: None in the first week
Summary: I like most spent hours researching the best set of 2.1 speakers for my computer with the option for an Ipod. I looked at the Klipsch Pro Media, Harmon Kardon Soundsticks and Bose Companion. In fairness I only listened to the Klipsch and the Altecs. I found the sound quality in both excellent! There have been some negative reviews for the Altecs mainly that they were too expensive for what you get. ie the Klipsch were almost $100 cheaper. I managed to narrow that margin to about $50. I am no audiofile but I can tell you that when I first heard them I just about fell over (my other 2.1 were about 4 years old..trust me lots has changed) Bruce Horsby Mandolin Rain and Eagles Live were my first tunes..absolutely KILLER!! I will pay this credit card bill without hesitation. Keep in mind one other option the Klipsch does not offer is the remote control which is a huge benefit for us as the system will travel once a year to mexico. So nice to sit back and relax with a remote handling the duties. Also the speakers are a very nice compliment to a flat screen monitor. My best price was $249 CAD at costco.ca
