Microsoft's OneNote Mobile arrives on the iPhone

In an important step towards making its note-taking and notebook-authoring service available in more places, Microsoft today has released a pocket-sized version of its OneNote application for Apple's iOS.

The software lets users make things like bulleted lists and checklists, as well as grab and insert photos from the user's photo library or the camera app. All these things can be combined into one note with a slightly modified version of the iOS keyboard that adds feature shortcuts just above the keys.

An updated version of Frash, an app that permits the otherwise banned Adobe Flash technology on Apple mobile devices, has been released. At the moment, however, it's only capable of handling relatively basic Flash animations (including, for example, the cult-classic Flash cartoon "Trogdor the Burninator"). The device in question must also first be "jailbroken," or hacked to remove protections and restrictions put in place by the hardware or software manufacturer.

Last week, TomTom announced its intentions to support Apple iOS 4's new multitasking function with its turn-by-turn navigation app. This week, we find Navigon, manufacturer of GPS devices and provider of the Navigon MobileNavigator app for iPhone, joining the chorus of developers singing praises of the iPhone's new ability to walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. TomTom app for iPhone will multitask in iOS 4

Apple's unveiling this week of its new iOS 4 has developers' scrambling to support the operating system's new features in their apps. First out of the door is TomTom with its announcement that the its app for iPhone will be updated to support multitasking.
