Greetings, Gadgettes

I’m writing in reference to the iRoticNet service that you mentioned in episode 98. I don’t quite understand who the target demographic is. Sure, I enjoy adult material just as much as the next guy, but I’m sure that most would agree that its best viewed in a private setting on a full size monitor, which would make putting it on a portable device rather pointless. I’m just not sure who would need porn to go and, quite frankly, I don’t think I want to know.

Love the show, but just as a friend

That subwoofer that you guys talked about on the show sounds pretty cool. But instead of just making the ground rumble or blasting out some loud bass guitar, I thought of a better use for it:

Just sneak up to you neighbor’s house (the neighbor you don’t like) and hit the house with a hammer. Record its resonance with a high quality portable recorder, and then play that through the subwoofer.

Belkin today announced the pricing and planned availability for its FlyWire wireless HDMI accessory. The unit will eventually be available in two separate versions: a $1,000 multi-room unit set to hit in October, and a stepdown $700 model dubbed the R1, which is intended for single-room installations.

TheFlyWire wireless HDMI kit garnered a nomination for the Best of CES Awards back in January, where it successfully demonstrated the ability to wirelessly transmit uncompressed high-definition video and audio. (See a CNET TV video of the FlyWire in action after the break.)... Read more

Hey guys,
One use of the refrigerated medicine cabinet that you guys didn’t mention on this weeks show was for medicine. My father in-law is diabetic and must refrigerate his insulin, and whenever I go to his house I always find it kind of odd that he keeps all that stuff in the refrigerator. I think this would be great for him that way he doesn’t have to keep his insulin and needles and stuff next to the butter anymore. Just thought I would mention this use.

Thanks,

To Gadgettes,

My nan always used keep her lipstick in the fridge (also she kept her rings there, but that was to hide them from her son who wanted to sell them when he inherits them, which he won’t.) but instead of moving her fridge to the bathroom, she moved the mirror to the fridge. Genius.

Love the show and Lindsay!

Hi Dear Molly, Jason, and Lindsey

My name is George and I am a second year physics grad student at UC Berkeley and work in a basement lab for most of the day (and listen to Gadgettes, BOL, and other CNET shows). Anyways, you were talking about the toothpaste drool removal kit and I have to say I could have used one of those. I often rush to lab in the morning so I have to brush my teeth really quickly at 8 a.m., getting some of that drool on my T-shirt and people in my lab look weird at me when they see it.

Well, the karaoke talk on Ep. 95 inspired me to write again. Molly, you’re absolutely right. The K for karaoke does stand for regret. The Japanese word for regret happens to be ‘kohkai’.

Keep up the great work gals (and guy),

Disclaimer: unless you're a makeup-wearing male (or a woman who loves both gadgets and makeup in equal measure), stop reading here.

It's seems like a guaranteed way to poke yourself in the eye, but that hasn't stopped Estee Lauder from introducing what is believed to be the first tube of vibrating mascara, according to beauty and fashion magazine Women's Wear Daily.

Estee Lauder logo

Estee Lauder claims there is "a relationship between vibration, length, volume, separation and curl." Stifle your laughter or raunchy jokes.

The battery-operated mascara brush will vibrate at 125 micropulses per second and has the exciting name "TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara." Makeup-wearing gadget lovers may be willing to shell out the $30 for the high-tech eye makeup, which goes on sale exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue on July 17.

The pulsating mascara is just another item to add to the growing list of beauty products aiming to make the world a prettier, less stationary place.

Hey Guys!

In episode 93, you discussed the leisure tub. Its pure awesomeness inevitably brings up the question: What if it becomes self-aware? You’d call it from work and tell it to set the water and change the channel to Oprah, and it responds, “I’m sorry, Kelly, I’m afraid I can’t do that.” And then, when you do get home and get in the tub, it turns the water up to scalding and kills you. Think about that.

Sex and the City movie brainwashed the Buffalo girls

Hey Molly and Kelly, (and jason too!)

I work at a club in downtown Buffalo, NY, and last Friday night we were inundated by a large number of middle aged women, who barged in demanding dance music and martinis. I sat in the DJ booth scratching my head, wondering what could be the cause of this phenomenon when I realized that Sex and the City had just opened across the street. No doubt, these women came out of the theater and ran to the closest gay club in town, determined to break it down just like Kim Cattrall. If that wasn’t enough, 4 girls from Skyy vodka came in and passed around passion fruit martinis in collaboration with the movie release. Then the clock struck one, and all the women realized that they don’t live the illustrious life of the four NYC socialites and went home…

Love the Show!

Ya’ll were really funny last week. here’s the pictures that popped into my head while listening.

Well, *the movie* made a ton of money last weekend and is now, apparently the new banner of feminism. I would like to declare myself not a fan. Thanks for making fun of it last week. Somehow I think now it’s anti-feminist to be a girl and not really like the show/movie.

Good luck to Kelly, look forward to your return.

Hey Gadgettsters,

In episode 92 you talked about the donut BBQ and the idea of the “beer dinghy” came up. This, of course, begs the question…

Can I jack my dinghy?

Here’s my celebrity douche story:

I am at the U.S. Open in 2005 and I’m standing in a huge walkway that is between Armstrong and GrandStand (I know someone in the audience knows what I’m talking about) And who do I see approaching me in the distance. It’s John McEnroe. So when he almost is near me I say “Hey, John” as he replies with… Nothing! Sniff sniff. I know he saw me and heard me but after I said hi he didn’t even look at me. He walked right past me, up the stairs and into the broadcast booth at which point my dad yells “Jackass!” Who would not even say hi to an innocent twelve year old boy. We were the only ones in the walkway so there is no excuse like he didn’t hear me at didn’t notice me, It was just pure Douche-ness.

Love the show.
Marco

P.S. Who is going to take Kelly’s place while she’s gone?

Kelly,
I do not blame you for being afraid of excess lighter fluid. Once, I put an insane amount on to light a fire, and when my family and I made marshmallows, they turned green from all the chemicals. GROSS
