It's barely March, and Roku is already having a big year.
In January, the device maker unveiled partnerships with TV manufacturers TCL and Hisense to integrate Roku streaming right into their televisions, without requiring any of the streaming-media set-top boxes the company is known for. On Tuesday, it detailed its new Streaming Stick, a clear response to the popularity of Chromecast, Google's low-price, thumb-sized streamer. With Streaming Stick coming in April and Roku TV slated for the fall, the company has a lot in store for 2014.
However, so do others. Amazon, Apple and possibly even Google are … Read more

Using a PIN code to lock the device is usually an effective deterrent and software tools like Find My iPhone and Android Device Manager can help track, lock, or wipe lost devices.
What would be the fastest way to get DVD rentals to materialize in users' hands the moment they added them to their queue? The US Postal Service? No. Bike messenger? No. Delivery drones? Just maybe...
With a tongue-in-cheek YouTube video, Netflix takes a friendly jab at its competitor Amazon and its announcement last year that it was working on delivery drones. The parody video broadcasts the roll out of a "groundbreaking" new feature called "Drone 2 Home."
"Now we are getting back to our creative roots with our groundbreaking, same-day, home delivery subscription service: Drone … Read more
An Amazon Web TV product has purportedly been in the works for a while. That device could finally hit the market next month, Recode reported Friday.
Citing information from industry sources and Amazon partners, Recode's Peter Kafka said Amazon's set-top box would compete with Apple TV and Roku to pipe online content to your television. Amazon already offers TV shows and movies through its Prime service and is more aggressively producing its own shows. So a Web TV product would be a natural fit.
The box reportedly would be outfitted with Android, an obvious choice since Amazon's … Read more
