Quickly access browsing history in any tab on Chrome for iOS

Google updated Chrome for iOS earlier this week. One of the new features in the update is the option to long-press on the back arrow to quickly access your browsing history for that particular tab.

As you can see in the video, the feature is very easy to use, but one that might not be all that obvious if you make a habit of skipping change logs. The displayed history is specific to the current tab you're viewing, and not an overview of your entire Chrome browsing history.

Samsung's Windows RT tablet won't go to Germany, either

Windows RT is in a bit of trouble.

Samsung today told German news site Heise that it's changed its mind on releasing the Ativ Tab in Germany. Samsung had previously hoped to offer the tablet to German customers, but revealed to Heise that demand for Windows RT is low in the country, prompting it to rethink its strategy.

Microsoft's tablet blip versus Android's boom

As Android tablet shipments surge, probably the best thing that can be said about Microsoft is that it's not going away.

Android tablet shipments totaled about 30 million in the fourth quarter, IDC reported today. And that number (total market) jumps to 50 million if you throw in Apple's iPad.

"There is no question that Microsoft is in this tablet race to compete for the long haul," an IDC analyst said today in a statement, trying to put Microsoft's tablet debut into perspective.

Samsung releases red Galaxy 2 7.0 tablet

For a limited time Samsung will be selling the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 in "garnet red." The tablet is priced at $220 and comes with a matching case in the same deep red at no additional cost.

The 7-inch tablet houses a dual-core CPU and will ship with Android 4.1. The tablet has a built-in microSD slot, Bluetooth 3.0, integrated IR for home theater control, and a USB 2.0 port.
