Japanese car makers continue to keep us in work here at CNET car tech. Just when you thought that today's models had as much gadgetry onboard as possible, along comes Infiniti with its 2008 EX35, a model that introduces two brand new car technology features. The EX35 is the first production car to come with Around View Monitor, a camera-based parking aid that gives drivers a top-down surround view of the car and any obstacles in its vicinity. It is also the first car in the United States to come with a nonemergency active safety feature in the form … Read more
Well, that was close. We could have spent $8,000 or so for a "Luxor Hydro Massage Bathtub," mostly because of a single feature: the built-in TV. But how selfish of us--what about our guests?
BornRich has solved our entertaining conundrum with the "Infinity Vista TV Spa," which seats six who can enjoy "57 jets, an auto-rising 19-inch Polaroid HDTV, JVC DVD/AM/FM/CD player, four-speaker stereo system, a 10-inch subwoofer with amplifier and LED lighting." Who knew that Costco would become a purveyor of luxury home items? We just hope that they … Read more
Infiniti is one of our favorite automakers when it comes to in-cabin gadgetry, as evidenced in our recent reviews of the 2007 M35 Sport and 2007 FX45. And here at the 2007 New York International Auto Show, the Infiniti lab coats are strutting their stuff again with the unveiling of the Infiniti EX concept. Similar in design to the space-age FX crossover, the EX concept is the forerunner to a production version due out next year. The EX concept features an arsenal of tech features that we haven't seen anywhere before.
Perhaps the most impressive is the Around View … Read more

There are loads of interior tech features on the Infiniti FX45 that just got delivered to the CNET Car Tech garage. The space-age crossover SUV comes with the same navigation system that we saw in the 2007 Infinti M35 Sport (although without the latter's amazing voice-command interface). It also has Bluetooth hands-free calling and a rear-seat entertainment system complete with wireless headphones and a dedicated remote control.
However, the two most impressive tech features for me have to do with good old freeway driving. As part of its $4,200 Technology Package, the FX45 comes with Intelligent Cruise Control … Read more
We just got back from a spin in the 2007 Infiniti M35, and we have to admit that on first impressions, we like it. After playing around with the M35's 8-inch rear-seat entertainment system, programming the in-dash GPS navigation unit, and goading the 275-horsepower V-6 in short bursts of urban driving exuberance, we were faced with the final car tech challenge: operating the voice-recognition interface. Regular readers of CNET Car Tech will know that we are hard to please when it comes to in-car voice-command interfaces. (For detailed examples, feel free to check out our reviews of the 2007 Toyota Camry, … Read more
I got the 2007 Infiniti G35 in our garage this week and took it out for a first drive. Our review car is a sedan, but the big red S on the back means it's the sports version. It has a six-speed manual transmission and a suspension tuned to handle twisty roads. Power runs to the rear wheels from a 3.5-liter V-6, which produces 306 horsepower, enough to really move this car. There's something about a manual transmission in a sedan that makes you want to put on black leather driving gloves and sunglasses and get out … Read more
