LaCie releases Lion-friendly NAS firmware

Following Synology and QNAP, LaCie today announced a major firmware update for its Network 2 NAS servers, such as the Network Space 2, called NAS OS 2.0. One of the major improvements in this new version is full support for Apple's Mac OS 10.7 Lion, which has been known to break support for Time Machine in NAS servers that previously worked with Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Versoworks describes Speckie as the first spell-checker for Internet Explorer. This free add-on brings real-time spell-checking to text entry fields in Microsoft's Web browser. It's compatible with the latest versions of Internet Explorer, including IE 9.

Sirius XM Satellite 2.0 coming to cars in 2013

Sirius XM confirmed that it will be rolling out its satellite radio 2.0 technology starting at the end of the year. Two new SXM 2.0-equipped radios will start the launch, and early next year one auto manufacturer will release a 2013 model year vehicle equipped with the new technology, according to an article in CE Outlook.

Galaxy Tab users to get TouchWiz update tomorrow

Owners of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet will receive an update starting tomorrow that will deliver the TouchWiz UX interface and a host of other enhancements.

Sent OTA (over the air), the update package will include Samsung's revamped Media Hub service, Samsung Kies 2.0 support for PCs and Macs, and mobile features for the enterprise crowd.
