Every once in a while, I come across a site that makes me do a double-take. A few weeks ago it was the unfortunate Chef Boyardee marketing site, and this week the clear winner in my book is MoanMyIP, which is a sister site (almost literally) to HearMyIP.com. Both services do just what you'd think--identifying your IP address and reading it back to you. A group of investors in Vodafone Group want the European cell phone operator to spin off its stake in U.S.-based Verizon Wireless.
Vodafone owns a 45 percent stake in Verizon Wireless, which has been adding subscribers rapidly and posting huge profits. Meanwhile, Vodafone's own global cell phone services have come under financial pressures.

Carl Icahn has lost his bid to win a board seat at Motorola, according to a preliminary count of votes Monday evening.
Motorola issued a press release at the end of its annual shareholders meeting held in Chicago stating that early results indicate that the stockholders had re-elected Motorola's current board of directors and that Icahn, who had launched a proxy fight earlier in the year to win a seat, was not elected.

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn may have to wait several days or even weeks to find out if he has won a seat on Motorola's board of directors.
Shareholders will vote on the new board of directors at the annual shareholder meeting Monday evening, but Paul Alfieri, a spokesman for the company, said Monday that the final vote may not be official for several days or weeks until an independent election inspector can verify the vote.
