Presumed Droid Razr HD videos appear before vanishing

A handful of tips and tutorial videos for a Motorola XT926 landed on YouTube this morning only to disappear shortly thereafter. Widely considered to be the Droid Razr HD, the clips were the first semi-official look at Verizon's next Android smartphone.

Those who were fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the five videos saw demonstrations of various features such as managing e-mail, Wi-Fi, messaging, and battery life. A 3D rendering of Apple's next iPhone?

Rumors have abounded, images have been leaked, and today a video was released that showed all the speculative features and components of the upcoming iPhone 5.

The video, found by RazorianFly, based the iPhone design on various leaks from Asian site iLab Factory. The iPhone shows a longer and thinner screen, far fewer pin dock connector, and what looks to be a "unibody." Samsung's recently released Galaxy S3 is shown floating next to the iPhone for comparison.

Rumor: Apple to include ITO coating on iPad Mini

Rumors coming from Apple Insider predict that Efun, a Taiwanese-based manufacturer of superthin substrates coated with indium tin oxide (ITO), may be supplying its ITO film to Apple.

Among its other properties and uses, ITO acts as an electromagnetic interference shield and helps reduce signal noise from radio frequencies, which in turn would enhance Web connectivity on devices like the still unconfirmed iPad Mini.

Apple Insider also predicts that Efun will provide its ITO coating to Apple for future standard-size iPads as well. There is no word as to whether the coating would be applied to iPhones or iPod Touches. … Read more

Black is the new black, or at least as it pertains to the Samsung Galaxy S 3.

Indeed, that is the color that is getting some buzz today as a black version of the Samsung handset has been spotted on T-Mobile's Web site.

Currently, T-Mobile, and practically every other carrier offers the Samsung smartphone with two color options: white and pebble blue. It's not uncommon for handset makers to offer a rare or exclusive color, but it's usually the white model that gets all the attention.

LG Optimus Vu may arrive stateside in a few weeks

The 5-inch LG Optimus Vu could arrive at a U.S. wireless provider in the next few weeks, fresh with support for a 4G LTE network.

An LG press release (translated) indicates that the Android smartphone is due stateside at some point in the third quarter. LG doesn't discuss carrier specifics, but recent signs indicate Verizon will be up first.

Rumor: New iPhone preorders to start September 12

The report, filed by Rene Ritchie at iMore, states that Apple will begin its U.S. preorders on September 12 while international orders should begin the first week of October, likely October 5.

Shipments from preordered iPhones should reach customers about nine days later, according to the report. In years past, many customers who preorder their iPhones have received them a day or two earlier than the scheduled release date.

Ritchie writes that iMore's sources for this story have reported accurate information in the past, though no official word from Apple has been released.

Verizon Wireless customers who thought they were getting a Droid Razr HD last week will have to wait a few more months.

Moto now is expected to release the Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD in October, according to tech site HotHardware. A source told the blog that the date may shift either direction and largely revolves around the sales of the current models.
