Norton Utilities An updated beta version (b31) of Norton Utilities 4.0 is out. The release version is due out around September 10.

New NetWare update may be out Last time, we mentioned a NetWare Client 5.11 mclupd4 update. Several readers wrote to say that there is now a mclupd6 update. It includes a new NetWare Control Strip, and an updated NetWare Print Access and NetWare Print Chooser that fix a few bugs. However, it seems the update was withdrawn after it was first released. Utilities Updates: Data Rescue, File Pirate and more

Data Rescue 2.01 is a tool for recovering data from "lost Macintosh volumes. It recovers files and folders from crashed hard disks, floppy disks, or removable cartridges. Recovered data are saved to another medium, leaving the original disk untouched." It works with HFS Plus! A reader reports: "After launching the Data Rescue Demo, my Mac IIcx (with Daystar '040 card) won't read floppies - no icon on the desktop, no activity on the drive at all, can't eject the disk, etc. This persists after Data Rescue is quit, and then resolves after a restart.&… Read more

RealView 2.6.5 is an "application for the Mac OS computers, designed for fast viewing, converting and printing of text, image and data files. RealView can open any file and display its contents as an image, styled text (including embedded pictures), Plain Text or as a Hex dump."

EpsonShare 1.0b10 is out. This does not have the data loss problem mentioned here on Monday.

Mozilla has released MRJ plugin 1.0d3. "It enables current Netscape browsers (version 4.X and later) on Mac OS to use the Mac OS Runtime for Java (MRJ) to run Applets. This is a development only release and support is limited. Use this plugin at your own risk."

VST USB Floppy Drive driver 1.2 is out.
