Verizon has launched a new Global Data Package for those traveling overseas.

The company announced today that its new Global Data Package will deliver 100MB of data per month to customers for $25. The special rate is available only to those customers who have a domestic data package, and it allows them to access e-mail, surf the Web, and engage in other data-heavy tasks.

Customers in 38 countries around the world can now download Metro-style apps for Windows 8 from Microsoft's Windows Store. The tech company announced today that it is forging ahead with its goal to "deliver a global service" with its app store.

"We want to support developers regardless of where they are, and give customers apps that match their interests, including local offerings," Antoine Leblond, Microsoft's vice president of the Windows Web Services team, wrote in a blog post.

As many as 1.5 million Visa and MasterCard accounts may have been compromised by the recent Global Payments security breach, the payment processor announced this evening.

Credit card numbers may have been exported, but no customer names, addresses, or Social Security numbers were accessed, the company said in a statement. The company believes the breach, which was revealed Friday, was confined to North America.

Since PayPal launched its new payment service "PayPal Here" last week, it has raked in thousands of sign-ups. In fact, in the first 24 hours of its introduction, the online payment company says it was getting 1,000 sign-ups per hour.
