Ex-Senator Simpson fights the debt, 'Gangnam Style'

As the election campaign ground along with the relentlessness of Ann Coulter drinking 18 cups of coca tea a day, you might have heard the phrase "Simpson-Bowles" once or twice.

This is not to be confused with Ashford Simpson, Jessica Simpson, or the BCS Bowles Series.

It was a plan to save money, so that young people can have more cash for bong-fillers and bubble gum.

Now former Sen. Alan Simpson (R.-Wyo.), the first part of Simpson-Bowles, has decided that the young haven't listened to him enough. … Read more

It's official: Justin Bieber has finally been out-Biebered... or perhaps more accurately, the Tween was outdone by the Korean.

As of today, Psy's "Gangnam Style" surpassed Bieber's "Baby" to become the most-watched video on YouTube. While Bieber's top video has been around since 2010, the "Gangnam Style" stratospheric global star has risen so quickly that Psy's dance sensation racked up more than 805 million views to pass Bieber in less than 5 months. That's more galloping in place than I ever thought this world could endure.… Read more

Infinite Jukebox: Your favorite song ... forever

It all started with Infinite Gangnam Style. For Music Hack Day Reykjavik, Paul Lamere, Director of Development Platform for the "music intelligence" company The Echo Nest, took Psy's "Gangnam Style" sensation to the next technological level. By breaking down the song into parts and matching similar parts in various patterns, he created a dynamic remix of the song that never ends. For Music Hack Day Boston last weekend, he modified and updated the musical algorithm to work with (nearly) any song, resulting in the webware app Infinite Jukebox, with the tagline "For when your … Read more

How 'Gangnam Style' went too far

If Generals David Petraeus and John Allen want to change their currently salacious images, they should get together with their alleged lady friends -- Paula Broadwell and Jill Kelley -- and perform a "Gangnam Style" routine.

It surely helps that Kelley is alleged to be an "honorary consul" for South Korea.

If the president really wants to avoid the fiscal cliff, he and John Boehner should stretch their arms out, cross their wrists, wiggle their rearguards and do a Gangnam.

Hey, why don't they do it on the edge of a real cliff?

Tibetans send China a message, 'Gangnam' style

Tensions have escalated between China and Tibet as the country's government prepares for its once-in-a-decade change in leadership. New protests by Tibetans have included a string of self-immolations that have drawn international attention.

While the protests are serious, Tibetans in Dharamsala, India -- home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan leadership in exile -- are also taking a more lighthearted approach to protesting China's long-contested and often brutal rule over the Tibetan Autonomous Region.… Read more
