Recently, BMW put a new spin on the art car concept by making the new Z4 Roadster the brush instead of the canvas. Essentially, the artist took a Z4, dunked its tires into red, blue, and yellow paint, and proceeded to whip donuts on a 200 by 100 foot canvas. Now, that's my kind of fine art!
Well, now there's an app for that. (Sorry, I couldn't help it!)

If you love Paris and the environment, and you have a boatload of money, this could be your dream home.
A real-estate company called Welcome in France is offering a free Tesla Roadster with every purchase of one of its homes in a new ecological luxury-housing development on the outskirts of Paris, according to a report.
The development will use solar panels, geothermal energy, and its own water treatment facility, among other things, French car blog Le Blog Auto reported, but it's still under construction, and buyer interest has been slow due to the economy.
The Tesla is a … Read more
EV Innovations unveiled its own planned line of electric vehicles, starting with two models, the Wave and Inizio. The latter of the pair aims to be a Tesla Roadster competitor.
But with less range, less power, and a bigger sticker, we're not sure if Tesla has to worry about the EVI Inizio just yet.
Nissan drops the top on its 2009 Z to create the 370Z Roadster. Top up or down, this new Z Roadster is a looker, which is more than we could say for its awkwardly proportioned precursor, the 350Z Roadster.
Also new to the Roadster is the availability of Nissan's complete suite of cabin technology, including hard-drive-based navigation.
Tesla Motors has begun offering its Roadster electric vehicle for the Canadian highway, the company announced Wednesday.
Tesla said in a statement that driving a Tesla Roadster in Canada can be thought of as even more kind to the environment than in other places since the bulk of the country's electricity is generated from renewable resources.
"An EV recharged from the current Canadian grid, on average, would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 85 percent compared to an equivalent gasoline-powered vehicle. In hydro-dominant British Columbia, Quebec, and Manitoba, the reduction would be an impressive 98 percent," said … Read more
BMW has released details and photos of its upcoming refresh of the Z4 Roadster, which is scheduled to bow at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.
The latest victim of BMW's awkward naming scheme, the Z4 sDrive30i features the same 3.0-liter, inline-six engine as the current model, outputting the same 255 horsepower. The more powerful Z4 sDrive35i uses twin turbochargers and direct injection to breathe 45 more ponies into the same 3.0-liter block for a total of 300 horsepower. Connecting the engine to the wheels is a six-speed manual transmission or, in the case of the Z4 sDrive35i, … Read more
Astute readers will notice that whenever we refer to Nissan's new Z, we specify 370Z Coupe. What about the convertible variant of Nissan's Z car? How do Nissan's recent announcements and unveilings affect the Z Roadster?
Well, for now at least, they don't. The Z Roadster will continue as a 350Z model, with the legacy styling and the same 3.5-liter V-6 engine under the hood producing the same 306 horsepower. In fact, the only update for 2009 is a new Moonlight White exterior color, which replaces Pikes Peak White. In other words, there's no (… Read more
Sure, whipping around the Hollywood Hills in your Tesla Roadster is going to be awesome when the supercar finally ships, but you want to stand out. That's why you hire a group like Brabus to pimp out your all-electric ride.
Its new Tesla package, rolled out at the Essen auto show in Germany, includes ground lights, new wheels and tires, a front-lip spoiler, and--our favorite part--sound effects. The Roadster, being all electric, is fairly quiet. The Bottrop, Germany-based Brabus seems to think we won't like that, so the package includes everything from a mimic of a race car … Read more
Since yesterday's unveiling of Chrysler's electric vehicle concepts, there have been many parallels drawn between the little electric hot-rod Dodge EV and the electric car that changed our perception of green, the Tesla Roadster. As it turns out, these cars may have more in common than you think.… Read more
