Full version of Windows 7 on Samsung Netbooks? Maybe

Though Microsoft wants Netbook purveyors to pack future products with full versions of the new Windows 7 operating system, it's going to come down to pricing, as one Netbook maker, Samsung, confirmed.

TechRadar.com sat down with the head of global computer marketing from Samsung, Kyu Uhm, on Wednesday, where he discussed Samsung's development of Netbooks around the new features available in Windows 7. Samsung's Papyrus e-book reader nears launch

Samsung's upcoming e-book reader, the Papyrus, had its debut at CES in January, but the stylish looking device is now making the rounds in Europe with some new details in tow. What's interesting about it is that it seems to have quite a bit of PDA in it as Samsung's gone with a touch screen (an aluminum stylus is included), and is bundling some utility applications such as a calculator, scheduler, and contacts. The Papyrus is an A5-size e-ink device (it's 5.8 inches by 8.3 inches while the entire Kindle 2 measures 5.3 … Read more

Samsung N110, N120: 10-hour Netbooks

Correction: This report misnamed the two Samsung Netbooks. They are the N110 and N120.

Samsung has pumped out details of a new pair of 10.1-inch Netbooks--the N110 and N120. Both are powered by Intel Atom CPUs, and claim 9.3-hour and 10.5-hour battery life, respectively. Though such figures mean nothing--all until we've tested them under our own conditions, it's a promising little promise if nowt else.

So with what are these Samsung sandwiches filled? Like Monday's N310, the N110's keyboard is 93 percent the size of a full-size board of keys, whereas the more … Read more

Samsung N310 Netbook kills germs fast

Samsung has announced a 10-inch Netbook which, among other things, kills bacteria. The N310 has been styled by award-winning Japanese designmeister Naoto Fukasawa and will presumably be welcomed with open--but latex-gloved--arms by OCD sufferers.

It boasts a frameless 10-inch screen and pebble design keyboard, which Samsung reckons is 93 percent of the size of a desktop keyboard for easy typing.

The N310 weighs about 2.6 pounds with a four-cell battery, which Samsung claims will give you up to five hours without busting out some mains supply. Battery savings come from the LED display and optimized performance from the Intel … Read more
