Troubleshooting CyberStudio 2

Following up on the previous item on GoLive's CyberStudio (which overall looks like an excellent web site design application): Benjamin Müller was having problems with new CyberStudio 2. In particular, he was getting Type 12 errors. He tracked down what appeared to be the cause of these errors to CyberStudio's Project Module and perhaps to a conflict with some QuickDraw 3D extensions. He wrote to GoLive about this. Bug-fix updates

Retrospect update Pat Lee (of Dantz) writes: "We just released a driver update for Retrospect 4.0 which works around a problem that users have encountered with older Sony DAT drives on a MESH controlled SCSI bus. It is only a problem if you are using a Sony SDT-1000 through SDT-5200 on a MESH SCSI bus."

Startup screen problems in Mac OS 8?

Joe Sponn's Performa 6360 refused to start up (bus error) a few days after he updated to Mac OS 8. He eventually traced the problem to a corrupted Startup Screen file. He started up from a CD-ROM disc, removed the file, and has not had the problem since.

Actually, several readers have reported problems with startup screen files in Mac OS 8. However, based on feedback I have now received from readers, many people are clearly using startup screens with no problem at all.
