Perhaps the idea of having an original copy is what makes faxing more appealing than emailing a Word or even a PDF document, but regardless of the reason, faxing is still around and quite commonly used.

Official announcements have mentioned a September release date for Snow Leopard, but rumor has it we could see it arrive as soon as August 28th (1, 2). In the past when Apple has given a month or season timeframe for a product release they have pushed it back as far as possible in that window, but with Snow Leopard in development for so long perhaps they have finished things up sooner than expected. Recently people have spotted the availability of Snow Leopard in a "MacBox Set" on the Apple Store, which seemed to be … Read more

Some MacBooks and MacBook Pros may unexpectedly go to Sleep Mode when stacked

Edited by Joe Aimonetti

If you have more than one MacBook or new MacBook Pro (models with a magnetic closing mechanism) you may experience an issue with the top computer going into sleep mode unexpectedly when stacked.

This issue is expected behavior and occurs because the magnet in the bottom computer could activate the magnetic switch in the top computer, causing the top computer to think that it has been shut. As Apple's KB Article on the subject notes:

"Automatic sleep operation works based on magnets; a switch in the MacBook Pro, known as a Hall Effect switch, … Read more
