A new Motorola phone appeared on Cingular's Web site today without a formal peep from either company. The Motorola V365 is a triband (GSM 850/900/1900) handset that also supports EDGE data speeds and Cingular's push-to-talk network.

Other features are midlevel and based largely on the phone's predecessor, the Motorola V360. Treo lovers, ready your thumbs, as a release date for the new Treo 680 is now flying around the Web. When we first brought you the news of the low-cost Treo 680 earlier this month, we couldn't tell you much in the way of availability. In addition to announcing the availability of the long-awaited HP iPaq hw6920, the cell phone carrier launched its first location-based service, called TeleNav GPS Navigator, for its business and government customers. The service costs $9.99 per month for unlimited use (or $5.99 per month for up to 10 trips) and provides text- and voice-guided turn-by-turn directions and color maps so that you don't miss that important client meeting. This Halloween, Hewlett-Packard's latest handheld gadget is dressing up as a Cingular Wireless smart phone.

As long suspected, the iPAQ hw6920 series Mobile Messenger will make its U.S. debut on the Cingular network. That means full access to GSM/GPRS/EDGE goodness, plus other wireless fun, like Wi-Fi, GPS, infrared and Bluetooth.

The iPaq hw6925 is equipped with a 1.3-megapixel HP Photosmart camera for photo and video capture (the hw6920 does not), Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, and a built-in GPS feature that requires software downloaded from Cingular, Microsoft or HP.
