Get SanDisk's Wi-Fi MP3 player for $89 shipped

In case it's not abundantly clear by now, I'm a bit obsessed with MP3 players. Today's deal: the 4GB SanDisk Sansa Connect, which sold for $250 when it debuted about 9 months ago but can now be had for just $89.46 shipped.

Why the steep initial price tag? The Sansa Connect leverages built-in Wi-Fi to stream Internet radio, download music from online stores, view Flickr photos, and share tunes with other Sansa users anywhere in the whole wide world! (Microsoft's Zune has Wi-Fi, too, but it's limited to wireless syncing and local sharing.)

New Sansa Clip is 4GB and really cheap

What's this? A 4GB MP3 player for just $79? Nope, I'm not playing a cruel joke on you. SanDisk has just added the new capacity to its rather fabulous Sansa Clip line. The new version comes in a universally appealing brushed silver body with a mirrored face, and it offers all the features of its brethren, which is to say quite a few. Of course, you get the built-in removable belt clip, the super compact form factor, and the support for WMA subscription services and Audible tracks. There's also an FM tuner with an autoscan function and … Read more

SanDisk's Sansa View gets bumped to 32GB

It's official: Flash MP3 players are taking over. SanDisk has just announced a new version of the Sansa View...one with 32GB of built-in flash memory. Ah, it makes me nostalgic--remember the days of 30GB hard-drive MP3 players? Oh, right, those still exist. The player isn't far off, either: the expected launch date is in February of this year. SanDisk will also be releasing a 12GB microSD card later in 2008, meaning you could end up with a whopping 44GB capacity all told. In true SanDisk style, the new View is priced to sell at $349. It's … Read more

With TakeTV and Fanfare, SanDisk aims to bridge gap between PC video and TV

It was first shown at January's Consumer Electronics Show--and then leaked on Buy.com just days ago--but the Sansa TakeTV is now official. It's not the first device designed to put PC-based digital videos on the TV, but what sets SanDisk's TakeTV apart is its simplicity: just drag and drop videos to the flash drive from your PC, and then plug it into the included video dock to watch them on your TV. The straightforward operation is a notable counterpoint to most other PC-to-TV digital video alternatives, which involve either cumbersome direct hook-ups (video and audio runs … Read more

Sansa Clip review and photos

Thanks to its position as a memory chip manufacturer, SanDisk is a master at cost competing in the portable audio space, and although companies such as Creative Labs are now tagging at about the same level, SanDisk's initial aggressiveness earned it the No. 2 spot in sales (behind Apple, natch)--and a reputation for producing cheap MP3 players. The company's latest device, an ultracompact model dubbed the Sansa Clip, is no exception: The 1GB model comes in at a mere $40, while the 2GB is on offer for a no less reasonable $70. But don't let the … Read more

SanDisk announces revamped Sansa View

You may recognize the name Sansa View, but that's about all SanDisk's new video MP3 player has in common with the original View announced at CES. SanDisk essentially went back to the drawing board, which is why it's taken so long for the official View to surface. Rather than a screen-dominated PVP, you get an e200 with a sleeker design, a beefed-up (2.4-inch) screen, and a larger--but still thin--body (4.3 inches by 1.9 inches by 0.4 inch). It's a smart move, since more users are inclined toward compact players than dedicated PVPs. … Read more

SanDisk brings cheap to a higher level with the Sansa Clip

PHOTOS: Sansa Clip, unveiled

You know, the word "cheap" doesn't conjure up the best images of quality, but it's more searchable than "inexpensive," so there you go. Still, flash memory maker SanDisk doesn't necessarily like its reputation for putting out (mostly) cheap MP3 players, even if the term refers more to cost than quality. That's why its latest addition to the Sansa family, the Clip, offers a respectable 92dB signal-to-noise ratio, meaning its sound quality should be able to stand up to the likes of the Creative Zen Stone Plus, its closest … Read more

SanDisk drops price on the Sansa Connect

Last week, SanDisk announced a price drop on the Sansa Connect, the company's WiFi-compatible MP3 player. SanDisk has knocked an impressive $100 off the original MSRP, bringing the 4GB device down to a reasonable $149.99. The price drop is strategic, coinciding with the impending start of the school year. Regardless, it's a wise move for SanDisk, as many potential users were no doubt turned off by the initially high price point. The new tag makes the wireless player a great value.

SanDisk Sansa Connect

Everybody knows that I am a sucker for the new crop of MP3 players featuring the ability to connect via WiFi in order to obtain music while on the go. The just released SanDisk Sansa Connect is an amazing step in the direction of my love. It has an amazing user-friendly interface and is set up to allow for access to internet radio at a cost of nothing. Even better for early adopters, is the ability to access the entire Yahoo music catalog with a subscription. All this for $250.00 makes this a compelling device for anybody looking for … Read more
