Despite all of the attention focused on Apple's iPad, other tablet makers have seen some adoption this year. Asus reiterated its commitment to the Android tablet business, refuting a report that said it, along with Acer and Dell, are looking to retreat after a rocky start.
The company was responding to Taiwanese news site Digitimes, which cited suppliers in its report that the three PC manufacturers were looking to phase out their Android tablet businesses.
"As usual, the rumors and reports from Digitimes are incorrect," said Asus spokesman Gary Key. "Asus is not exiting the Android tablet business."

The Nvidia Tegra 2 was the new hotness earlier this year as Honeycomb tablet after Honeycomb tablet embraced its dual-core architecture. Now, it's garbage.
On Tuesday, Nvidia officially unveiled the Tegra 2's successor, announcing the quad-core Tegra 3 CPU. The CPU will debut inside the Asus Transformer Prime in December and according to Nvidia, it'll offer up to three times the graphics performance of Tegra 2, and up to 61 percent lower power consumption.

GameStop is now in the Android tablet business.
The retail gaming vendor is starting to sell three Android tablets outfitted and accessorized as gaming devices.
GameStop is offering gamers a choice among the 7-inch Acer Iconia Tab A100 for $329, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 for $499, and the $399 Asus Eee Pad Transformer. To transform them into gaming machines, the retailer is bundling six titles with each tablet--Dead Space, Monster Madness, Sonic CD, Cordy, Riptide GP, and Re-Load.
