Activ for Vista is a free program that claims to monitor your system's processes, DLLs, and Registry. Thanks to an unintuitive user interface and lack of user guidance, we never got very far with this program.
The user interface is too plain and too vague. There are three check boxes on the left side of the small window for settings: Process Start/Stop, DLL (Image) Load, and Registry. ID Install Watch monitors your PC during the installation and removal of programs to ensure that all is running smoothly. But from the get-go our computer's performance slowed to a grinding halt, and the program itself froze on us.

Our first impression of Turn Off Monitor was not a good one. We had to use our Task Manager to stop the program because it caused problems from the get-go.
Immediately after installing the program, our monitor went haywire, turning itself off and on without us clicking a single button.
