Google released a new version of Chrome for Mac OS X on Thursday that restores a key feature, extensions, that had been missing for weeks.
"With this new version, you'll be able to install any of over 2,200 extensions (and counting!) currently available in Chrome's extensions gallery," said Chrome programmer Mark Mentovai in a blog post Thursday. Extensions are a key asset for one big rival browser, Firefox.

Apple has released an update for the iPhone SDK for the iPad, bringing the current version of that SDK to 3.2 beta 2.
Like previous versions of the SDK, beta 2 includes Xcode and is only available in a version compatible with Snow Leopard for iPad developers.
The SDK supports the larger 1,024x768-pixel screen resolution of the iPad and its new interface features. It follows the iPhone OS and SDK 3.2 beta released for the Apple iPad in January. So far, we haven't heard of any major differences between the two.

Apple's built-in support for the PDF format has allowed for a number of programs to easily implement its use. Safari is one of these applications, and when you click on a PDF link you should be able to view PDFs without having to load any plug-ins or other software. Despite this, a number of people are having problems viewing PDFs in Safari, in which the browser will show a blank white or black screen instead of the selected PDF file.… Read more
Apple has released version 3.0 of their Aperture post-production tool for photographers. This latest release offers over 200 new features including Faces, Places and Brushes. The program also introduces new tools including Brushes for painting image adjustments onto parts of your photo, and Adjustment Presets for applying professional photo effects. New slideshows also let you share your work by weaving together photos, audio, text and HD video.
