While not all of us are out there snapping pictures wherever we are, those who do will appreciate the simplicity of SayCheeze's interface. Start by using the settings to log in to your Facebook account, then flip the switch for auto-upload to the "On" position. It's completely reasonable to think an update to something will be better than its predecessor--or at least its equal, but for less money. The Kodak EasyShare Z981 isn't either of these things. The refresh of 2009's Z980, it was released at CES 2010, but was never really announced. And after testing it, it's understandable why.
The Z981 comes across like a last-minute effort to enable the company to keep a model in the full-size megazoom category. For example, basic features such as the ability to turn off digital zoom and Quickview--the instant playback of shots after … Read more
What can we really say about an application that looks like a run-of-the-mill personal organizer but opens with a scantily clad woman rapping on our screen to get our attention? We're no prudes, but perhaps if eReminder Sp1 - Easy Planner Secretary wants to be taken seriously, it should reconsider its nipple-baring virtual spokesmodel.
Virtual babe aside, this is an OK program. There's nothing about it that really blew our minds, but it offers a solid set of organizational features. The calendar function has six different views, allowing users to see everything from the current day to the … Read more
Compellent's C-Drive event last week drew about 300 storage administrators and IT generalists to downtown Minneapolis one week before EMC World. While that's small show by EMCWorld standards, it was a big event for Compellent customers.
I have yet to meet a more evangelistic group of storage users. Compellent's architecture creates a unique storage management environment. While the architecture supports a variety of RAID levels and RAID-based array configurations, one has to leave pre-conceived notions regarding management and functioning of traditional RAID arrays at the door. These people behave as if they had seen the light and … Read more
We're here to review software, not to give our opinion on the ethics of the software we encounter. That said, we can't think of too many applications for ResourcesExtract that aren't likely to violate some kind of intellectual property laws. ResourcesExtract lets you scan for and extract icons, cursors, bitmaps, AVI movies, and HTML files from existing programs. Presumably you would want to do this because you want to "borrow" these elements for some purpose of your own. Whatever your reasons, ResourcesExtract is indeed a good way to perform this task.
The program's interface … Read more
