Off-topic: LEGOs perform Metallica's Whiplash

Better get a look at this awesome stop motion video of a bunch of Legos performing Whiplash, a Metallica classic, before Lars Ulrich sees it and sues everyone.

BTW--I heard the new Metallica song on the radio and it sounds like they just chopped up 4-5 old songs.

Ten things that are not killing you slowly this summer (NY Times)

Over on the NY Times John Tierney brings us 10 things we don't have worry about this summer including killer hot dogs and cell phone radiation.

Could your vacation be interrupted by a sudden plunge into a wormhole? From my limited analysis of space-time theory and the movie "Jumper," I would have to say that the possibility cannot be eliminated. I would also concede that if the wormhole led to an alternate universe, there's a good chance your luggage would be lost in transit.

I'm just happy I can stop worrying about unmarked wormholes shifting … Read more

Update on July 24, 5:50 p.m. PDT with additional information and corrections.

UPDATE: According to Kirk Ladendorf, the author of The Austin American-Statesman article, the Statesman will issue an update, likely sometime during the week of July 28. In short, it appears that AMD's contention that Dirk Meyer was misquoted is true.

The name is Datto and it's the realization of an idea of a network-attached storage (NAS) device that automatically syncs its entire content to a remote server so that you have an off-site backup copy in case of disaster.

Datto's NAS devices come in two sizes: 100GB and 500GB, which cost $399 and $500, respectively. However, that's just for the devices; you'll have to also pay an annual fee for … Read more

My blog traffic goes way up when I talk smack

It's amazing what a little bit of smack talking will do for your traffic. You commenters take yourselves way too seriously. My last post was designed to address some of the FUD in market and be flame-bait. I do like the fact that everyone thinks Ross is a gentleman. He is. It's that British thing he's got going on.

My ploy to upset some people worked and now I am over it. Moving on...

Off-topic: Videos of the best pizza you haven't eaten yet

I don't know how I've managed to not know about Chow.com (a CNET site no less!) but today I found it through the Webby Awards page.

In the Chow Pizza Obsessives feature, you can watch seven videos of my friend and pizza hero Anthony Mangieri discuss the world of pizza and you too will become obsessed.

In the meantime you might want to try out Pazzia on 3rd @ Folsom.
