I'm here at the Washington Technology Industry Association's technology showcase in Seattle, which just wrapped up, and managed to catch a minute with Seattle local Ben Huh of icanhascheezburger fame. Huh is the CEO of Pet Holdings, which owns the ring of sites that surround icanhascheezburger, including Failblog, Engrish Funny, and not-quite-as-funny-as-lolcats-site Loldogs.

Intelligence agency hosts kids' Web sites

It's never too early to know your organs of state. To this end, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is hosting what it calls the Intelligence Agency Community Kids' Page.

The page offers roughly a dozen links to U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agency sites, where children can learn about the institutional layout and various skill sets of each department.

I've always been fascinated by the concept of alternate universes. I imagine various universes in which an Eric Franklin does not work for CNET in San Francisco, but instead still lives in his hometown of Chicago and owns an import video game/comic book/action figure shop.

As the opposable-thumb-sporting meal ticket for Iris the Destroyer, a cat for whom a Panasonic Toughbook wasn't quite tough enough, I've given a lot of thought to the cat-proofing of consumer electronics.
