The iPad Mini with Retina Display may look a lot like the original iPad Mini, but it's a tad thicker and has a second microphone on the back that none of the leaked specs revealed. The result of those small design differences is that many of the existing iPad Mini cases don't fit the Retina version, and case makers have had to scramble to make new, slightly modified versions of their existing cases. It's taken them a little while to do that, so in the early going we're seeing fewer case options for the Mini Retina … Read more

You don't need a keyboard for your iPad. But, if you're planning on an iPad being a laptop-replacing device, having one can come in very handy for getting writing done. I've played with a lot of keyboard accessories on the iPad, but these are my favorites.
Before the iPad Air, most cases would fit the second-, third-, and fourth-gen models equally. That's no longer the case. So, having used several new solutions and written on each, I've broken my recommendations down into categories of iPad: Air, previous generations, and iPad Mini.

Though a far cry from any modern conception of gaming, Phaser Strike still retains the intrinsic relationship with the 1960s "Star Trek" and its vision of the far-off future, now ripe for nostalgia for everything from the early days of television to science fiction's steady influence on pop culture.
Thirty-four years later, "Star Trek" is returning to its retro roots -- though with a bit of a technological upgrade -- with Trexels. The new video game venture will debut on the App Store Wednesday at 9 p.m. PT (Thursday at 12 a.m. ET) in the form of a $2.99 iOS game for iPhone and iPad. Equipped with an 8-bit art style and a time-shifting plot line, Trexels mashes up the series' later characters from "The Next Generation" with those of the original crew. … Read more

Deutsche Bank did a "series of online checks" that included Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart over cyber Monday.
"We believe this reflects the need for [laptop] vendors to close the pricing gap with tablets which continue to exhibit strong market momentum," analyst Chris Whitmore said … Read more
