Curves ahead: BlackBerry Curve arrives at AT&T/Cingular tomorrow

For those of you who have been making regular visits or calls to your local Cingular/AT&T store about a certain BlackBerry Curve, you can stop reciting "Is it here yet? Is it here yet?" Today, the carrier announced that the Curve will be available in stores and online, starting tomorrow, for a reasonable $199.99 with a two-year contract and after mail-in rebates.

Nokia N75 finally shows up at Cingular/AT&T, or does it?

Well, I'll be darned, look who finally showed up on Cingular/AT&T's doorstep: the Nokia N75. After months and months (and months) of waiting, the music-centric, 3G-loving N75 appeared on the carrier's Web site today and with very little fanfare might we add. Palm Treo 750 gets Windows Mobile 6 and 3G love

Well, good on ya, Palm. Today, the company announced that it will offer Treo 750 owners an update to Windows Mobile 6 Professional Edition. Not only does this bring the new e-mail search functionality, Calendar Ribbon, and Windows Live for Mobile integration, but for Cingular/AT&T customers, it also adds support for the carrier's UMTS/HSDPA 3G network. Sweet. Palm said it will release the upgrade later this year, but we're trying to get a hard date--or at least a more specific time frame from the company, so check back for more details.

Seeing red: AT&T/Cingular introduces red BlackBerry Pearl and Treo 680

Look out! AT&T/Cingular is painting the town red as they officially introduced the red RIM BlackBerry Pearl and the crimson Palm Treo 680 today. The Pearl will sport a dark ruby red casing, rather than the blinding hue we had feared earlier. It'll also be the first phone to sport the new AT&T branding. Aside from the cosmetic changes, the blushing smart phone keeps all the features of the original BlackBerry Pearl, including push e-mail, multimedia functions, and push-to-talk capabilities. Who else? AT&T/Cingular in line for Moto Q q9

Seriously, is it me or is Cingular/AT&T getting the lion's share of smart phones these days? It's already got the BlackBerry 8800, the Samsung BlackJack, and the Cingular 8525 in its lineup. Could the Motorola Q q9 be next? We're a bit suspicious of this image of an AT&T-branded q9, but as a quadband, HSDPA device, it's not too much of a stretch to say it'll land at Cingular.

AT&T turns parents into big brother

AT&T rolled out a new security portal today called Smart Limits. Designed for parents who want to monitor all aspects of their children's activities, the site provides instructions for parental controls of the Internet, cellular phones, television watching, and regular landline telephone calls. There is one catch, though: all the information is for AT&T's services, so it's not going to work on your Comcast cable box or Verizon cell phone.
