Hello! My First Post for the Pre Test Drive

[A brief introduction to who I am as a cell phone user, what I want from a phone, and my last cell phone user experience.]

LG Fusic: Not for me, but maybe for my kids.

The LG Fusic sure isn't your corporate executive's cell phone, but for the younger market it's quite nice.

It's compact, looks attractive and 3G makes getting everything quick and easy. Sprint's Power Vision and On Demand kick in along with the music (hence the name) to make this definitely a fun phone. The micro SD card lets you store enough tunes to last you for days. Opening the clamshell is far easier than most, and the call reception is excellent.

Sprint Navigation to arrive in April

Today, Sprint and TeleNav announced they are expecting a little cell phone/GPS lovechild sometime in April. They've named the location-based service (LBS) Sprint Navigation, and it brings a bundle of navigation joy, such as:

Text- and voice-guided turn-by-turn directions 3D maps Pedestrian mode Real-time traffic alerts Local search with more than 10 million points of interest Gas finder by lowest price

Another ugly phone, but one for charity

We've seen some over-pimped phones in our day, but this has got to be one of the ugliest. And, believe us, that's saying a lot.

It's not just the garishness that typically defines these monstrosities. In this case, the special-edition LG "Fusic" handset looks like it has some kind of disease, thanks to--what else?--an overabundance of Swarovski crystals.
