Hulu may not be for sale yet, but buyers are lurking

Hulu might not be on the auction block, but that hasn't stopped buyers from expressing interest.

A report from AllThingsD said several potential purchasers have reached out to Hulu's corporate owners, though none have made a formal offer. The site lists Ross Levinsohn, the former interim Yahoo who now works for Guggenheim Partners, as one potential acquirer. Yahoo and Amazon are a couple of others that have "kicked the tires," AllThingsD said.

Hulu, Yahoo, and Guggenheim Partners declined to comment. We've contacted Levinsohn and Amazon and will update the report when we have more information. … Read more

Facebook campus gets the Guggenheim Museum treatment

Facebook today unveiled its sprawling, rooftop-gardened campus expansion -- the brainchild of renowned architect Frank Gehry.

Gehry, the man behind the famous Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, and the more recent, Bilbao-like Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, has presented Facebook with a tree-covered campus that boasts eco-friendly construction and an underground tunnel to the current campus.

Everett Katigbak, Facebook's environmental design manager, called the site "a paradise work space for the 3,400 engineers who will one day fill it."

"At every step of planning the new building, Frank has taken into account our … Read more

The two iconic organizations are asking the public to submit plans for a 100-square-foot shelter using Google Sketchup, choosing a location for the shelter via Google Earth, and using Google 3D Warehouse to upload the design and submit to the official Guggenheim contest Web site.

Once a design is submitted, it will be showcased on the Guggenheim's "Design It: Shelter Competition" contest Web site using a Google Earth … Read more

Listening to Art in the bathroom--at the Guggenheim Museum!

I was in the Level 5 bathroom at the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan, when I heard this amazing sound. Strange and beautiful music filled the one-person-at-a-time restroom, which I assumed was part of the Museum's "The Shapes of Space" show that runs through September 5. The music was pleasant enough, but there was something about the way the sound filled the bathroom that fascinated me. I could only locate one tiny speaker, up near the ceiling bouncing sound off the curved walls of the "D" shaped room. The sound was so ethereal, spacious, and calming, … Read more
