Breaking up is hard to do

The Palm Pre that CNET shipped to me is actually my second Pre. This post explains my decision to buy it and make the switch to Sprint. The second Pre is currently in the possession of my less tech-obsessed partner, and I'll write about her experiences in a future post.

Why I left T-Mobile and signed up with Sprint.

Before I got the Palm Pre I had the T-Mobile Dash for a little over three years. The Dash was a fine first smartphone: good size, excellent keyboard, and fairly good screen considering the size. It came with Windows Mobile 5, an expansion slot, and, with a little hackery you could easily find instructions for on the internet, internet access for six dollars. T-Mobile Dash 3G priced and reviewed

The poor T-Mobile Dash has been pulling duty ever since October 2006, and while it's received a minor face-lift and Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade over the years, it's definitely time for the smartphone to retire. More importantly, T-Mobile customers need and deserve something more up-to-date, and it looks like the T-Mobile Dash 3G is set to deliver.

T-Mobile Dash 3G coming in July; more Android details next week

For those of you who don't care about a certain phone from a certain fruit-flavored company, you might be interested to know that T-Mobile announced on Wednesday the upcoming availability of its latest smartphone, the T-Mobile Dash 3G.

The Dash 3G is T-Mobile's take on the HTC Snap, which debuted at CTIA 2009. The carrier expects the smartphone to ship nationwide in July, though it did not release a specific date or pricing at this time. HTC gems unearthed? Rumors pick up on HTC Omni and HTC Cavalier

What's this? A non-iPhone news item? Yes, believe it. And if the rumors are true, then we've got some really craveworthy gadgets here. First up is the HTC Omni (rendering pictured right). The supposed upgrade to the HTC Universal (which sadly never landed here in the States) and related to the HTC Advantage, the Omni is said to have a 4-inch, 800x480-pixel WVGA display and VGA and TV outputs. Windows Mobile 6 upgrade arrives for T-Mobile Dash

Well, it's about gosh-darn time. T-Mobile Dash owners can finally get their hands on some Windows Mobile 6 goodness now that T-Mobile has officially announced the availability of the software upgrade. Starting tomorrow, Dash owners can go to T-Mobile.com and download the WM6 Standard Edition update for free. Among other things, the new OS brings:
