No wonder Yahoo is in trouble
Hello again JaMoTo,
No wonder Yahoo is in trouble.
If this is their idea of content they can monetize, they’re about a decade behind. Not only is the page ugly, but I don’t see a single woman on that page with a weight problem. Is Yahoo saying all women in America are skinny and can eat giant chocolate bars (see the picture on the page) without gaining a pound?
So not cool.
In its own way, this is just as bad as Miss Bimbo, just a little sneakier about it.

No. 2:
Regarding the comment about body-driven Wi-Fi causing humans to need more food, she obviously isn't in sales: "The WiFi Diet!! Upgrade to 802.11n and watch those pounds melt away!! 3G? Hah; more like 3Gorgeous!! Act Now!"

Hotel Internet access
Buzz Crew -
If all hotel guests who are upset at paying $11 per day for Internet access would send a letter to the Hotel's customer service like the one below, maybe things would change:
—–
Dear Hilton Customer Service,
My family and I stayed in two rooms for 3 nights at the following Hilton network hotel:
Doubletree
100 The City Drive,
Orange, California 92868
Check-in: 3/24/2008 / Check-out: 3/27/2008
Rooms: 620 (Walker) and 619 (Davidson)
I was appalled at the rate charged for in-room Internet access. The desk clerk explained I could access the Internet free in the lobby, to which my reply was that doing such is inconvenient and would require that I abandon my family. Because of your inconsideration to hotel guests regarding charges for in-room Internet access, I was forced to pay the exorbitant fee of $10.95 per day--$32.85 in total.
I understand you incur costs related to providing Internet access, but a more reasonable fee would be in the area of $2.95 per day. Other hotel chains manage to offer in-room Internet access and charge nothing for it.
I am a frequent hotel guest. Your staff was kind and treated us with respect and we tipped them accordingly; but due to Hilton's price gouging on in-room Internet access, which demonstrates the utmost in disrespect for your guests, we will no longer stay at Hilton network hotels.

Great podcast.

As host of the Buzz Report video series, Molly provides a fresh and funny perspective on the latest consumer electronic products to hit the market, as well as commentary on the stories and development that she thinks are truly buzz-worthy. She is also co-host of Buzz Out Loud, CNET's "podcast of indeterminate length," which entertains listeners with a funny and skeptical take on the day's technology news. Her other podcast, Gadgettes, is proof that girls can be geeks too.

Tom Merritt appears on
CNET TV, specializing in help and how-to and the ever popular Top 5
lists. He also co-hosts CNET's The Real Deal podcast.
Jason Howell can
often be found producing Buzz Out Loud from the audio studios at CNET,
updating XML feeds from the comfort of his cubicle, and saying "uh-oh"
from time to time.

I've been out of the audio business for a long time, but way back when, Dolby Labs never cared if you built a chip to decode surround sound. The would only charge if you were to use the Dolby tm or "Double D" logo on your product.
If Creative is not allowing their cards to decode Dolby and someone is hacking them to enable this functionality, maybe Creative is worried that they may (in some way) be open to a licensing lawsuit?

Both companies control various facets of the music in many of countries (trust me, you cant escape their tentacles in at least 6-7 europeans countries and partly in almost a dozen more. I have more respect for Microsoft for their ethics !?!.)
They control every aspect of the industry, production, artist management, touring, advertising, media,etc.. so the record business (especially as it becomes more and more digital) is their next logical step.
Btw, U2's agent's London-based Solo Agency is owned by ClearChannel and now they are going to LiveNation. Oh my... how bold.
When CNET TV spins off, would you consider it bold if people went from one company to the other?
This is like some horror movie where this giant parasite is growiing and growing and then it splits and now there are two giant parasites. I tried hard to find another analogy but this one works fine.
Cry havoc, Molly.

- Wait a minute Molly! Are you sure its not the job of the government to prop up a failing industry? Someone forgot to tell the government this. Since they are working on bailing out the stupid decisions made by the mortage industry, Bear Stearns and others, doesn't this set a precedent that they should financially support an industry or company that is suffering such as the RIAA?
