i think that the sony walkmans are meant to just appreciate music in general. walkmans are for people who really love music and want every note every beat on the player, which the walkmans deliver perfectly. i think walkmans in general are for artists who have to money to pay for this sensation. i don't think sony walkmans are for general public and especiallly the X series. its for the rich people.

Hm. If I remember correctly (which may not be the case), in a different podcast quite some time ago with a review of the Cowon S9, the hardware buttons on the S9's top were basically called 'useless' and 'positioned illogically'. Now I can't disagree with the opinion that the top isn't the best place to put them, or that the S9's hardware controls are inferior to those of the Sony Walkman X-Series, but it kind of surprised me how the hardware buttons on the Sony Walkman X-Series' top are being praised so much.

Not that I don't think the Walkman isn't a great product, nor do I think the S9 is perfect (not even close), but if you ask me the Cowon S9 delivers an either equal or better audio and video experience than the Walkman, and it's cheaper (and feels cheaper, sadly, but I and many others still think it's not as bad as some say). Oh well, that review was probably a long time ago and I liked the show nonetheless.

Oh, that's not to say I don't appreciate the hardware controls because I really do, on the S9 as well as the Walkman.
