Apple has released an update for the driver components associated with the ExpressCard slots on Mac Book Pros.

The new update -- ExpressCard 1.0 -- resolves an issue that prevented the system from sleeping when some cards are inserted in the ExpressCard/34 slot. It requires Mac OS X 10.4.7.

The release is available as a 491 KB standalone download.

A poster to VersionTracker's feedback system writes:

"My MacBook Pro is now able to sleep with a media reader in the slot."
