Apple has finally acknowledged an issue we've covered extensively in recent weeks: sudden, seemingly random shutdowns exhibited by various MacBook (13") models.

The Knowledge Base article states simply:

"If your MacBook is shutting down intermittently, please contact AppleCare for service."

As such, if you are experiencing sudden shutdowns, you should refrain from attempting any do-it-yourself repairs and return the unit to Apple for service, as they have likely identified the proper defective components and should offer a quick turnaround time.

A recap of our coverage:

If you have submitted your MacBook for service regarding this issue, please drop us a line at Late-breakers@macfixit.com.
