Quicken 2007 (#2): Crashes on launch, potential fix; Unexpected quits when printing checks; more
Crashes on launch Several users have reported an issue where Quicken 2007 repeatedly crashes (or unexpectedly quits) when launching. In some cases, the program properly launches but crashes when the user attempts to add data. In other cases, the application crashes while "rebuilding index headers" or performing other on-launch operations.
Some users have reported that deleting the following folders:
- Stuffit.Framework
- StuffitSupport.framework
from the directory /Library/Frameworks resolves the issue, while others continue to to have the problem after removing the folders.
Unexpected quits when printing checks Meanwhile, some users have reported that Quicken 2007 repeatedly crashes when attempting to print checks.
If you are experiencing a similar issue, please let us know.
Scheduled Update conflicts Some users are reporting a problem where Quicken 2007's Scheduled Update functionality causes conflicts with other applications.
MacFixIt reader Philip Coats writes:
"I had a weird problem with some games recently. I finally tracked it down to the 'Scheduled Update' feature of Quicken 2007. Turning on this feature seems to cause the GetKeys() function to stop working, as it is used in lots of games (for example, the recently released Pangea Arcade and Redline)."
"I have a Mac Pro with all of the latest software updates (Mac OS and Quicken) and I can reliably break these games by turning this Quicken feature off and on."
