iTunes 7.0.2 Special Report: Long playlists, problems

by CNET staff

Some users report continuation of problems with a large number of playlists in iTunes 7.0.2.

One reader writes:

"iTunes 7.0.2 tries to fix the bug all available Playlists in the iPod preferences.  However, it only displays the first 1048 playlists.  I?ve got about 3500 playlists (for 48,000 songs) and only get as far as Garcia when scrolling through my playlists."

If you are experiencing similar issues, try reducing the number of playlists in your library, or creating a new library (accomplished by holding the option key while launching iTunes) then re-adding your music Library without the same multitude of playlists, and re-attempting importing to check for a speed increase.

You can then choose revert to your old Library (again, by holding the Option key at launch and making a selection).
