Photoshop CS3 Special Report: Beta may not have to be deactivated

by CNET staff

Included installation instructions state that a previously activated copy of the Photoshop CS3 is to be deactivated before installation and activation of a retail copy of Photoshop CS3. This obviously represents a conundrum if the user has already deleted the Photoshop CS3 beta application from his or her system.

We've now received word from Adobe that the CS3 beta may not need to be deactivated before installation of the retail CS3, despite the contrary instructions.

John Nack, Senior Product Manager for Photoshop told MacFixIt:

"It seems there shouldn't be any problem for users who've removed the Photoshop CS3 beta without activating it"
