Adobe Version Cue 3.1 fixes several bugs, does not address firewall issue

Adobe has released Version Cue 3.1, an update to the he server-based file-management system included with Adobe Creative Suite 3. The new release fixes several bugs but does not address an issue where installation of the component turns off the Mac OS X Firewall and turns on TCP access to ports 3703, 3704, 50900 and 50901 without notifying the user.

Among the bugs fixed in this release:

  • Details view now includes check in comments.
  • Idle browsing of Version Cue projects will no longer result in memory loss.
  • Unnecessary authentication dialog no longer appears when you are navigate away from project that you are already logged into.
  • Projects can now be renamed from Folder Panel.
  • Error message now displayed when trying to rename an asset with filename that already exists.
  • No errors when entering certain double byte characters as metadata values in Bridge.
  • Illustrator CS3 and InDesign CS3 documents with links that are in both Version Cue CS2 and CS3 projects now correctly resolve.
  • Duplicate local project folders

The new release is available as a 14.4 MB standalone download.
