Apple has released the AirPort Base Station Update 2007-002 for Mac, citing improvements for AirPort Utility (will be updated to version 5.2.1), AirPort Disk Utility (will be updated to version 1.2.1), and AirPort Base Station Agent (in /System/Library/CoreServices, will be updated to version 1.2.1).

System requirements for this update are listed on the Web page linked above as:

  • Mac OS X 10.4.8 or later
  • AirPort Utility 5.0 or later
  • AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n

But in the download itself, they are listed as:

  • Mac OS X v10.4.x or later
  • Wireless network access requires a Macintosh computer with AirPort or AirPort Extreme card
  • WPA2 support requires a Macintosh computer with an AirPort Extreme card

The latter set of requirements seems more likely to be correct, especially as Apple also says:

AirPort Utility v5.2.1 for Mac OS X 10.4.x or later software supports the AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n, AirPort Extreme Base Station and AirPort Express Base Station.
