This save me about $170 :) battery was showing 55-60 (sometimes suddenly up to 90) percent of its capacity, and lifetime was like 1-1.5 hours at maximum. Now it shows 86-90%, and it works definitely much longer!

I seemed to get a longer time at first, but now when I run my MBP until the computer quits it shuts down the computer instead of going to sleep. At least it's done that two times now.

I've installed this on my MacBook Pro and I have two batteries. One battery came with the system in November 2006 what has 120 cycles and other I bought in September 2007 that has 9 cycles. The older battery dies and shuts down the MacBook Pro at about 40% (according to the battery icon) and the new battery will sleep my MacBook Pro at about 7%. I haven't had time to run through a full cycle on either battery yet but will later and get back what I find.

I ran the newer 9 cycle battery and lasted a little over three hours of hard running (no dimming of the display and max performance). I'll get you the results from the other battery later.

I ran the older 121 cycle battery it died at 40% which the MacBook Pro shutdown and NOT sleep when it ran out of power. Just like before the battery firmware update but again this a very well used battery.
I just though this update will change the firmware of the battery so it will more accurate but this is not the case for this battery.

I'm with you on this one. My fan seems always on since upgrade. Any ideas why?

Installed the update yesterday, Today my power adapter remained on amber and percentage of charge in the menue bar remained at 74% for hours.
I reset PRAM, repaired permissions. So far everything's back to normal; 100% in the menue bar-green light on power adapter.

Interesting - this seems to have cured a recent problem where I could start the MBP by simply attaching the powered mains lead i.e. I didn't need to use the power button.
