Let's see if they've finally fixed the upgrade to iTunes Plus feature so that it stops leaving the old, protected files in place even if you tell iTunes to move them to the Trash.

I never had this issue.... when does it occur on your Mac?

When I upgrade songs to iTunes Plus, iTunes will ask whether to leave them on the Desktop or move them to the Trash.

I select "Move them to the Trash" and at best one or two will make it to the Trash but I still end up having to "Show Duplicates" and manually have to pick out the old "Protected AAC" versions and discard them myself.

I don't have that problem, but noticed 8.1.1 synching still doesn't elegantly handle audio tracks copied to my iPod Touch that are later updated to iTunes Plus. It'll offer to copy files from the iPod that don't exist in iTunes and permanently delete them otherwise, with no indication what they actually are (which is the root cause for this problem). Of course I'll say "yes" to not risk losing something, then discover they're the original audio tracks that had been successfully deleted automatically from iTunes after an iTunes Plus update. So, now they've been copied back from the iPod and need to be deleted a second time -- manually.

"Hiya, Clint. For a mere US$311.86, we'll bring your iTunes Library up to snuff ... "

I'll just be "un-DRM-ing" a select score or so albums.

The upgrade went fine on my MBP.

Just wondering what Apple considers a large library?

Thankfully 8.1.1 fixes the minor but irritating bug with the scrolling position not being properly retained/restored when switching between playlists.

That's such a great bug fix. Too often I am wanting to be right where I was on a playlist when I left.

Doesn't fix the broken streaming to Airport Express.
This has been bugging me since version 8.0.
    Grrrr!
