Mac OS X 10.4.6 Special Report: AirPort network not automatically re-joined after sleep
Several readers have noted an issue where after updating to Mac OS X 10.4.6 their systems do not automatically re-join the default AirPort network when waking from sleep.
If you are experiencing this issue, you may want to try the suggestions listed in our AirPort connectivity tutorial, particularly the following:
You may need to delete then re-establish any encrypted AirPort network configurations in order to take advantage of automatic reconnection capabilities after sleep or restart.
This can be accomplished by opening the Network pane of System Preferences, selecting "AirPort" and clicking "Configure." In the "By Default, join:" menu, select "Preferred Networks" then delete all problematic entries. Re-add them manually.
