Photoshop CS2 9.0.1: Problems with color in printed images
Users are reporting an issue with Photoshop CS2 9.0.1 where color becomes distorted on printed images.
A posting to Computer Darkroom reads:
"This problem, when it occurs, is most noticeable as banding or posterisation within a very small range of tones/colors, which typically include skin tones, the transition between yellow/orange, and some reds. It's further complicated by the fact that the affected colors seem to differ by printer model and media type."
According to Adobe, the actual cause of the problem is due bug within Mac OSX 10.4.x that had been hot-fixed by Apple for Photoshop 9.0 (AKA CS2), but was broken again with Photoshop CS2 9.01 testing net.
In the meantime, users can either revert to Photoshop CS2 9.0, or follow the workaround posted to Computer Darkroom.

Resources
is to always keep older versions of your software around, so I print my all files
from
Photoshop CS 1 and everything is fine.
How does one revert back to PS 9.0 from 9.0.1? The workaround seems a little
involved; and I had no issues with 9.0. Is it as simple as dumping the PS app,
and reinstalling, leaving everything else intact?
Thanks,
Sonny

(3 Comments)ver. 9.0.1, and Mac OS 10.4.6, and Epson print profiles. The Computer-
Darkroom document mentioned explains exactly the print problems I started
having (apparently after updating both Photoshop and MacOS, I'm not sure in
what order). I tried the "work around" described in the doc. but it didn't "work".
After a conversation with Epson Tech, I figured out they don't have a solution,
they basically imply it is a Apple & Adobe issue. After a conversation with
Adobe Tech, they didn't claim to know about this problem, and I have not called
Apple Tech yet. I tried reverting back to Photoshop CS2 ver. 9.0, with no
changes, sadly, the problem persists. Come on guys, you are the market
leaders, let's get some customer support and fix this issue!
