Mac OS X 10.4.7 Special Report: Rosetta problems -- potential fix

by CNET staff

Some users are reporting issues with Rosetta after updating to Mac OS X 10.4.7, with PowerPC-only applications failing to failing to launch on Intel-based Macs.

It appears that in some cases this problem is directly or indirectly caused by Unsanity's Application Enhancer when used in conjunction with PowerPC-based apps. In these cases, the issue can be solved by simply adding all PowerPC applications to Application Enhancer's "exclude" list.

Disabling APE, and then removing it entirely didn't work for me. I downgraded to
10.4.6. I have heard since that redoing prebindings can help - anyone tried this?
