Mac OS X 10.4.7 Special Report: Microsoft Word crashing frequently -- fix

If you are experiencing repeated unexpected quits or freezes from any version of Microsoft Word after updating to Mac OS X 10.4.7, font issues may be at play. Try deleting the following files/folders:

  • ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
  • ~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache

and check for persistence of the issue.

    I can't even see my own website using Safari on my MacBook Pro since
    upgrading to 10.4.7. I get a message saying I don't have the QuickTime plugin.
    Obviously I am missing something pretty basic, right? I mean, an update from
    Mac not letting me use a QuickTime plugin. It's fine when I run Safari in Rosetta
    though.

    Same thing happens with Windows Media Player plugins, but I understand that
    issue....
